Just came across the news about the gang rape in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. Even a 2 day old girl was screwed with screw driver more than 100times. We are always judging girls based on time, clothes and the people she hangout with.
But what about those 2 day old girl? What kind of clothes was she wearing? Was she hanging out late at night?
If a girl is being raped and stays alive, we blame her all her life. But if she dies, we are ready to hold candles and go for a candle march for her to get justice.
Why are the girls being raped and being blamed for this unwanted event. Why are they always being questioned about their whereabouts and clothes and the need of people to give a character certificate. Why do we always question the victim but not the ones who commits it. The assailant always comes up with an excuse that as a man they have certain urges and sexual needs to fulfill and as a man they have the right to do this.
Over the years the cases have been rapidly increasing yet no one talks about it. It's so dreary to see that even after having proper laws and punishment, the assailant escapes this heinous crime. This negligence sets an example infront of girls that if you hangout with guys, do late night parties and wear short clothes you can be raped. But no one educates the guy that *NO* means *NO* and hardly we find people who say to their son, that no matter what you should take care and respect a girl.
👏👏👏👏. True. It's hightime victim blaming should stop!
