On one such nights, When we cross paths again In that same old street with flickering lights, When the sky pours down Its tears of joy And loud thunder cries , Masking every soul nearby, Leaving us to hear none but each other . When bright lighting shines, To give away one quick glimpse of you, When eyes turn teary, Recognizing that familiar face It has tirelessly searched for, Amidst the busy crowd Of some distant city unknown. When my ears get overjoyed Hearing the reassuring sound Of your gentle voice, Which has once left my ears ringing The last time you whispered goodbye. When my cheek flushes warm
At your sight, With the rosy tint of red And trenchant anticipation, I so fail to hide. When my quivering lips Struggles to gather Those six letters, Engraved deep into back of my mind. Yet so fresh in memories, I have stubbornly locked In some unreached corner of my heart. And my feeble effort to utter that name so close to my heart the mention of which Never fails to turn my head around Clutching to a futile hope of finding you, For one final time, Sitting by the window
Of that dusty last seat , On the same yellow evening bus, We were once destined to share.
Till then I shall keep going
Walking the streets alone,
Until I stumble upon you
In a different time ,
Hopefully, in another chapter of my life.
