The mornings are so coy,
With the warmth of that thick furry blanket.
With the late sunrise
And dark and daring but still
With some delightful hues of the sky.
Everything seems slow,
Along with heartbeat, blood and snow.
And extra freshness in the green leaves,
The smell of the poppies,
And the legendary 'Gajar ka halwa',
That satisfying grip on a hot cup of tea
After a long cold glove-less ride.
The stunts of bathing with ice-like water,
And the silly reasons to defy touching it all together,
No complicated questions like "what should I wear",
A big size hoodie is good for all I care.
As this season is especially for lazy people like me,
Eat sleep repeat keeps me hardly on feet.
Cold seasons have almost all the beautiful festivity,
It's a reason we like to stay close in proximity.
Even the bus overflowing with passengers
Doesn't seem that scary.
The melodious taste of chocolate ice cream,
On that utterly freezing night like in dreams.
Winters also seems to give a surge in artistry,
As the reflection of the sunsets
From the river bank or the stable lake,
Seems so poetic, so tranquil,
That the sky full of stars
Feels a little shy and keeps on falling apart.
It starts with the fall of October,
Where the melancholy of heart is on another level.
It stays till the spring
Spreads its joyous wings,
And recites and sings under the canopy
Of the myriad of blooming buds and flowers,
The songs of love, lovers and rings.
