“So why did you lie?” I sounded like a child winning over his mom for ice cream.
I could hear my hopes getting higher like the choir on a wintery Christmas evening. Everything went on rewind to the floor being a musical instrument playing my heart in rhythms. I knew he was the one, I felt it the first time my ears landed itself on his voice. Madhav was going to be my subject for life!
“I just didn’t want that comedian to mess with me. Also, I am kinda shy about girls.”
PERFECT!
“Okay, I understand. Are you free tomorrow?” I need to take my chance, now or never.
“Uh, why?”
“I need to take the files nah?” Duh, as if!
“Oh yeah, I’ll be there in the evening ma’am.”
“Just Paravi.”
Hi, my name is Paravi. I am a writer and a hopeless romantic who never gives up on the belief of love however many kicks I got from life. I have had one toxic relationship that I got over, and even though my heart shattered into pieces, I believed in fate. Madhav was making my belief turn solid. Hang on, there’s a lot to it.
“Paravi, okay” ahhh like chimes!
The birds are singing a merry song today, a morning filled with dewdrops rejoicing on your arrival. I’ll wear yellow today, and leave my hair to the wind, let it be known, I was waiting for you!
Madhav was visiting TODAY!!!!!!
By evening, I was exhausted from waiting. I dreamt of an entire lifetime with him, a typical house in the countryside, a small pool…and the bell rang.
“Hi. Come on in.”
Cute! I sat by his side only to find out how my countryside dream is not so easy. He tucked himself as away as he could from me, in the corner of the couch. WAS HE GAY? I am going to cry now!
“Madhav, do you want some tea or coffee, or lime soda or ice cream?”
“No, I kinda need to leave asap.” The no sounded like a NO for a proposal. Am I not pleasing to him?
The yellow turned to pale cream, my sunflower died.
I watched him work relentlessly for 2 freaking hours without uttering a single word from his mouth. He didn’t even bother to look up. No guy, NO GUY, ever did this to me! By then, it was too much. I was done with him.
“Madhav, can we take the files the next day? I got my finals starting by 2 days.” I mean, c’mon, leave.
“Finals? I thought you were working.”
“I mean I am, along with my grads.” Grumpy me.
“Which sem?”
“Fourth? Why?”
“I thought you were elder to me lol, I am on Sixth.”
“Okay, cool!” I mean why would he even think that I was elder to him. Weird guy.
“Can I have some ice cream?.”
I GET IT NOW!
